That's Why It's Called Network St%$%d!

Often I hear people say, "Ok lang kahit anong business pero pag
networking, ayaw ko niyan" (Any business is ok but I don't want it if it's networking). I immediately get it, that that person doesn't know what he/she's talking about.

In any business, you need to learn to network with people. Come to think of it, if you're going into business, where are you going to get your fishes, in the pond or in the ocean? You need to get it, that whether its traditional business or not, you need people, hundreds, thousands and millions of them to promote your business. Don't tell me that you are only promoting your business to your family, relatives and friends. Even a small business like sari-sari store cannot survive with only relatives as clients. You need "fishes", millions and different kinds of them in different oceans to get your products and services across and you need a powerful net to get to them. This http://www.ca2020.net/profiles/blogs/its-not-just-business-its-a uses a powerful net by the way.

Each of us, is already holding a NET, whether we are employees or entrepreneurs its up to us if ever we will use it or HOW we will use it.

Come to think of it, you have a NET and you just need to make it WORK. That is why, its called NET-WORK, not NET-EAT, not NET-SEAT, not NET-WALK.

Again, It's NETWORK. Make your net, WORK.

So to make things clearer, to repeat what Robert Kiyosaki said, " Rich people look for and build networks everyone else looks for work."

You can actually choose:

1. Having a NET without making it work.
2. Having WORK yet not making use of your net.
3. Having BOTH: NET + WORK= NETWORK.

Wealthy people choose BOTH while poor people choose either/or.

If you tell me, "well I'm an employee so I don't get to choose right?". Probably, but the company you're working for made a choice to make their NET, work while you, on the other hand is busy net eating, net seating, net walking etc. So, that's why you're there.

Even if you don't do networking and you go into traditional business, you will still have to make your NET, WORK. Don't tell me your clients will just be your parents? Sorry, there's no getting away from it.

Enough about this. Gtg. Just make your net, work.

Emotional Bankruptcy: Is This The Way YOUR World Would End? PART II

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate your comments also those who took time to even send me emails.

If you are reading this for the first time, I suggest you read first the Part 1 of this blog:http://www.ca2020.net/profiles/blogs/emotional-bankruptcy-is-thisand come back after you're done reading it.

Its true that there's not much of a difference. All of the people I mentioned had problems and the common denominator is money. In life, there's no such thing as big or small problem. Any kinds of problems can temporarily stop us from moving forward; even if its just a toothache.

The thing is, its not how big or small the problem is, it is how big or small the person is dealing with the problem that matters.

When a similar thing like that happened to us more than a decade ago, I only looked upon people who were able to risen up from their problems. I, too is not alien to the experiences of the people I mentioned. I feel their suffering and I know some of you, especially those who emailed and shared with me their story, have experienced it as well.

To those who emailed me, I see you. I understand what it feels not to have a decent food to eat and a place to live. I, too know what it feels having debts from hundreds, thousands and millions. I, too understand what it feels to have sleepless nights for weeks that that time, seemed like months and years not knowing what's gonna happen next whether you will still have food or a place to stay on the next coming days. I, too know what it feels to think that the world has been unfair.

However, despite all of that, it never even crossed my mind, that I will end my life. The only thing I remember is that I told myself that somewhere out there, someone has already surpassed what I'm experiencing. Somewhere, someone already solved the problem that I have. Somewhere, somehow, someone was able to overcome similar challenges that I am encountering. You might think this is crazy but all the time I when I was suffering; all the time that I thought I was in a bottomless pit, all I could think of was this: I am suffering because something BIG is coming into my life. Something BIG is coming and I am being prepared for it.

All the time, I remember holding on to these words, "this too shall pass".

And it did.

To those who keep on holding on and striving to get out from the hole in the ground of their problems and sufferings, I honor you. It takes courage and faith not to let go.

Looking back, what happened was after all the greatest gift God has given. My husband and I were able to regain back what was lost, hundredfolds more. I believe its God's way to clean up everything that's not working in our lives and to give space to something new. It has been a profound experience for us. What we thought was our darkest days turned into a blessing because we simply believe that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

When I first learned about what happened to Ted Failon's wife (It was a year ago), I gave a short prayer for her and felt grateful that I committed to a path less travelled although it's never easy, it has been worth it. I feel constantly grateful, for God making me realize that, what we are doing in the community is truly life-changing and that, no matter what, we must continue to do our work. We must continue to spread the word to every Filipinos that now, more than ever, we need to be financially educated.

Just think about it, what if, a Core Team member is a close friend of Ted's wife? What if she has attended the Wealth Course? What if she has a friend who attended our programs and shared what she got from the program? What if someone introduced to her books, like Rich Dad Poor Dad or Secret's of the Millionaire Mind? Probably, what happened to her (and to the rest of those people who ended their lives during the slowing down of the world's economy or recession) might have been prevented.

And I invite you to take that action NOW. Invite ANYONE, whether you know them or just met them, to join this online community. Maybe you'll just one step away from the solution to their problems.

I am grateful forever because when we hit bottom, I was surrounded by people who see problems, just the way it is, something to be confronted, to be dealt with and solved. You just don't know how lucky you are to be part of this community. You are surrounded by people who are wealthy emotionally, financially and spiritually.

As for the mother who almost killed herself because of 1,500 electricity bill, she's lucky to have lived; to be given a second chance. I was not able to personally talk to her however, I'm grateful that a 17 year old (my cousin) has contributed to her. She's aware that its not longer just 1,500 that she will be dealing with once she's back home, yet she went home that day ready to face her problems.

Now, Donald Trump's problem was never a problem for him. For a lot of us, our problems could be a huge rock or the entire planet earth that has fallen on us. For Donald Trump his problem that time probably was just a "pebble on his shoe" making him uncomfortable yet unable to stop him from walking and moving on. He confronted his problem, he did not run away from it; he looked at it straight in the eye. He is not a super human, the thing is, he's just not emotionally bankrupt. He's emotionally wealthy that's why he was able to solve his problem that for most of us seemed impossible to solve.

You know for a fact that you've probably done a stupid thing or two in your life. If you look back, I'm sure most of it rooted from you being emotionally fired up with negative emotions (anger, hate, depression etc...) during those times. Then after a day or two, you realized and asked yourself, "why did I do such a stupid thing?" A lot of psychologists often said that if you are angry or frustrated or furious because of someone or something, delay for a day before you talk to the person. Some would even say, count one to ten. Why I'm saying this? because I've done a lot of stupid things in my life as well and most of it was due to the fact that its either I'm angry or hurt. I remember regretting my actions afterwards.

Yes, people around us will always tell us to be rational, however if you look at it, most of the time when people decide, they base it emotionally. No matter how logical it is for example not to smoke, or take drugs etc... you will find out that people do it to feel good, to belong and be liked, to gain friends and other decisions that was purely based on emotions. Daniel Goleman, author of the book, "Emotional Intelligence" said, that people who has the ability to assess and harness emotions, even negative one's and and manage them to achieve intended goals are usually those who really succeed. He added on his other book, "Social Intelligence" that also those who are smart in their relationships, their ability to connect and have meaningful relationships with others, make it in life.

Successful people are also emotional. They get angry, they get furious, they get frustrated, however, despite being enveloped by those feelings from time to time, how come they were able to move past any problems?

Here's what we found out:

1. They see themselves bigger than any problems. They think big. They look at their problems as small and look at themselves as a big person who can solve the problem.
2. The have a network of people whom they can turn to, aside from family, when they deal with their problems.
3. They ask questions no matter how stupid they may appear to people.
4. They NEVER go it alone. They ask for support and make sure they get it.
5. They are sensitive to their impact on others.
6. They do not avoid difficult situations. They face their problems or difficult situations squarely.
7. They are emotionally wealthy. They focus on positive experiences and make sure it outweighs their negative ones.
8. They believe that they create their life.
9. They let go of playing victim.
10. They embrace responsibility.

Indeed, at the end of it all, the most important thing is to be alive. Remember, you only got ONE life. Use it to be a channel of blessing, of love, of compassion. You just don't know what you can do to make a difference in the lives of others. Share what you're learning and what you're getting out of your participation in this community. Share and be the miracle in the lives of others.

Let us leave the world with a bang, not of a whimper.

P.S.

To those of you who took time to share your thoughts on Part 1 of this blog, thank you very much. Below is my gift for you=)

Emotional Bankruptcy: Is This The Way YOUR World Would End?

Last month my son was hospitalized because of Dengue. It was only now, that my cousin who shared shifting schedules with us taking care of our son early morning, told us something that strengthen my belief that this community is on the right track.

My cousin told me that she was able to talk to a woman who was admitted in the hospital. She got curious because she was the only adult who was inside the Pedia Room (despite that there are rooms for adults) together with 2 other children that time (including my son). She found out that the woman will not be staying for long and will be released anytime. Aside from that, what surprised my cousin was the reason why she was hospitalized:

Cousin: Wala po kayong kasama ngaun? ( No one's with you today?)
Woman: Wala eh may trabaho ung nanay ko pero siya naghatid ditoPero mamaya susunduin niya na ako. (None, my mother is working however she was the one who brought me here and will pick me up later)
Cousin: Baket po kayo na admit? (Why were you brought here?)
Woman: Nag-suicide kasi ako. Uminom ako ng pangpatay ng insecto. (I took suicide. I drank insecticide)
Cousin: Ha?! Baket naman po? (What!? Why?)
Woman: Kasi ang laki ng kuryente namin. Nagtitinda lang ako ng gulay sa Palengke. Nahihirapan na ako. (Our electric bill is too much. I just sell vegetables in the market. It's difficult for me.)
Cousin: Magkano po ba ung electric bill niyo? (How much is your electric bill?)
Woman: 1,500.
Cousin: 1,500???! ipagpapalit niyo ung buhay niyo don?
Woman: Naaawa kasi ako sa mga anak ko, wala silang kuryente nagaaral pa naman sila (I pity my children because we will not have electricity anymore and they are studying)
Cousin: Naawa po kayo kayo sa mga anak niyo pano naman po yan kung natuluyan kayo? sino na mag aalalaga sa kanila? Hindi niyo po ba naisip yun? (You pity your children? but you did not consider who will take care of them when you're gone?)
Woman: Yun na nga eh. Naisip ko na rin ngaun. (Yes, I already thought about it now)

By the way, my cousin is just 17 years old. She cannot believe that such beautiful lady, older than her, will do such thing for an electric bill of 1,500.00

I remember a quite similar incident as well with the wife of Ted Failon (news anchor). To those who are not familiar with her story, she also ended her life because of debt and misused funds that reached more than a million. She left a letter and it goes like this:

Papa, I'm so sorry, gustong-gusto ko pang magsabi sa iyo ng totoo pero hindi ko po alam kung papaano ko uumpisahan. Sobrang takot na takot po ako. Umalis po muna ako kasi hindi ko po kaya at nahihiya po ako sa iyong humarap. Sana po mapatawad mo ako, Papa. Sorry sorry Papa, -- Mama (Papa, I'm sorry, I really wanted to tell you the truth but I don't know how to start. I am so afraid. I left because I cannot continue anymore and I am ashamed of facing you. I hope you will forgive me papa. Sorry, Sorry papa--Mama)

She shot herself in the head.

Then there is another person, Donald Trump. He had $900 million personal debt and 3.5 billion in business debt between the year 1989-1997. He even said that during those times, when he looked at the pauper outside of his apartment, he can't help but laugh on himself because the pauper is literally richer than him. The only difference though he realized, that for the pauper, the future is already bleak yet for him, the future is clear. He will re-emerge from bankruptcy and in 2005, he did.

So, I want you to tell me, what's the difference between the three people I mentioned? They all have the same problem and that is money. This time, before I will share with you the ending of this blog, I want to know from you, your thoughts about this:

1. What do you think is the difference between the three people I mentioned in terms of confronting their money problems? One has a 1,500 debt, the other more than a million debt and the third one has billions worth of debt.
2. Wherever you are right now, a student, employee, parents, entrepreneur, what opened up for you while reading this?
3. Between any amount of money problem (thousands, millions or trillions) and your life, what would you choose?

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

The truth is i'm lazy... yet smart

"Activity is not Productivity" - CA2020 Productivity Course.

Great Morning CAtizens!

The last saturday one of the core team members asked me: coach, why don't i see you doing moderating the cashflow? I answered: years ago, we were the first moderators of the cashflow gathering. Then, because of our superb online marketing skills, we got too many people who want to play. We got so tired and exhausted and we began to systematized our cashflow gatherings. Now it is systematic then we can handle hundreds of cashflow gatherings participants in one venue every week unlike before we are doing it once a month with at most thirty people.

Big Businesses are run by systems. The system is the one running the business. In CA2020 Business School we teach Systemization by doing the real thing. That is why we do not promote small businesses. We, however, teach to engage in Small Deals before Big Deals. Not Small Business but Small Deals. Attend the Cashflow Gathering so that you will understand what Small Deal and Big Deal is all about.

This inspires me to create this blog about a "people theory" I got from my military science days. It is how the German Military classify people in four types:

"There are only four types of officer. First, there are the lazy, stupid ones. Leave them alone, they do no harm…Second, there are the hard- working, intelligent ones. They make excellent staff officers, ensuring that every detail is properly considered. Third, there are the hard- working, stupid ones. These people are a menace and must be fired at once. They create irrelevant work for everybody. Finally, there are the intelligent, lazy ones. They are suited for the highest office." - General Erich Von Manstein (1887-1973) on the German Officer Corps

Smart, Lazy -- Generals

Smart, Busy -- Staff officers: dependable, get the job done well

Stupid, Lazy -- Grunts: these people will do little harm
Stupid, Busy -- Avoid: unsupervised, these will cause a lot of harm!

Application of this theory in the business world:

smart + lazy = the innovators, big business owners and the investors, passive income creators. Business Systems and Money are the ones working for them. They have too much money and too much time =). In the Core Team, we use our time and money freedom to build First World Philippines.

smart + busy = the highly paid professionals and small business owners, middle managers and company executives. They sell their exceptional skills and talents and time. They have too much money but NO time freedom.

stupid + busy = the labor force, the ones working hard to earn a living. Trading time for money. They have NO Time and NO Money Freedom. if their boss is not around they are busy with their facebook. they are mesmerized by their titles, positions, credentials, steady paychecks, perks and bonuses. They never realized that they are in the rat race or calypso.

stupid + lazy = the bum, the ones who rely on other people for money (e.g. from OFWs). No money but have a lot of time.

NOTE TO READERS: If you are offended by the word "stupid" you may substitute it with the word "not-smart".

NOTE TO READERS: if your cultural wirings are offended by the word "lazy" then you may substitute it with the word "relax". Here is a story why most Filipinos consider "lazy" a bad word:

Popular Philippine Folklore: Stories on Lazy Juan

How did Filipinos once thought of themselves in general? A popular folklore will give us a good idea how.

Filipinos, a generation ago, once had a negative folklore going around by word-of-mouth about a general concept of what Filipinos were. Folklores on lazy Juan, or “Juan Tamad,” was said to symbolize the typical Filipino. Stories of lazy Juan went around, especially narrated to kids and young people, hoping that the young generation would be challenged to wake up and determine not to be like lazy Juan.

But some social experts, beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, started challenging the general notions on Filipinos that folklores on lazy Juan produced. They asserted that such folklores did more harm than good, especially to young minds. If something like a negative folklore becomes imbedded in the imagination of the youth, it might produce a lethargic culture among them instead of discourage a similarity to lazy Juan’s lifestyle.

Folklores on lazy Juan are characterized by a lazy lad who uses his native wit to simplify hard work. For instance, instead of going up a guava tree for a ripe guava fruit, he lays down right under the fruit and waits for it to fall off by gravitational pull. To others, folklores on lazy Juan are actually a plus factor for Filipinos; they show their unique indigenous wit. Instead of unnecessarily going through a tedious process of work, why not simplify it whenever possible?

To some, the folklores really shouldn’t be titled “Lazy Juan”, but “Smart Juan.” While others insist the main character, Juan, is more a tricky Juan than a smart one. But the majority seems to favor to have the folklore remain a thing with the old folks; the present crop of young generation hardly knows the folklores on lazy Juan. It’s rarely heard in schools and kids’ conversation. It seems a majority prefer to let it die naturally; unless someone makes a PC or Internet game on it.

Some conjecture that the folklore started with the Spaniards. Some centuries ago they started a campaign to demoralize the brown Indians or “Indios” (native Filipinos) from taking even a fancy at independence and self will. Thus, according to a theory, the conquerors thought of circulating a folklore on the incompetence and laziness of “Indios.”

The folklore on lazy Juan had served its purpose in its own generation. It had made fun in certain ways some undesirable Filipino habits and highlighted in some ways some Filipino ingenuity.

Application of this people theory in this online community:

smart + lazy = they are the creators and administrators of these community.

smart + diligent = they are the contributors of the contents of these website.

not smart + diligent = they are the one with most comments but no plans or capability or mindset of joining the core team. they are the ones who do not understand the house rules and oftentimes got suspended.

not smart + lazy = they are the lurkers. They are educated by the articles here and become smart then one day...

Which type of person are you now and which type of person are you in the future?

Can You Defy Gravity?

How many of us really can defy people who keeps on pulling us down?

Recently, one of our Core Team members received a message and it goes like this, “Stop sending us an email, as what I have emailed you, your talk is boring and uninteresting. Your program won’t be successful".

One of our new Core Team members also shared to us her experience when she was doing one of the final tasks to finally become part of the community. This is what she got from her friends. “If you will simply just remain a doctor, we will support you but going into a business, you cannot expect us to support you”.

We have another coach here, before becoming a coach, was told by a mom of her friend. “You know, don’t be ambitious, be an employee that would be better for you”

I’m sure at some point in your life, you have encountered these kinds of gravity pulling you down. You have encountered people who will simply stop you from moving (not just forward) but upward. Sad to say, a lot of us, at some point succumed to different kinds of gravity.

Have you experienced being told by someone:

1. You will never be successful.

2. You will never be wealthy.

3. Better stick to what you are doing, you will not succeed in other things.

4. You will never be good enough.

5. You are ugly.

6. You are poor. Always will be.

7. Your dreams are too big. That won’t happen.

8. You cannot afford it.

9. You are no good at that.

10. There’s no future in this country. Quit daydreaming.

And etc. etc. etc. That's gravity pulling you down.

We have bad news for you. The more you hold on to your dreams, the greater the gravity.

However, everytime gravity pulls you down, ask yourself, how come birds can fly? and ask yourself, how many birds are flying? If they can fly and defy gravity why can’t I? And lastly, are birds flying with other birds or with animals that cannot fly?

Learn to fly with people who've learned to fly. Let us defy gravity. Yes, it is difficult, IN THE BEGINNING, however, when you've finally learned it, you'll see the world from a new perspective and then you will realize you'd want those who matters to you, see what you've seen and experienced and the only way that would happen is teach them how to fly as well.

That is what we are doing. This country deserves to be great. We want to teach people to take the first step and open up their wings and learn to fly and defy gravity for their family, for their community, for their country and for the glory of God.

The view is great. That we can guarantee. The thing is, you need to trust yourself that YOU CAN DEFY GRAVITY. LEAP and we will be there for you.

Finally, I want to share this video with you and I wish that the spirit of Easter brings you new life and new beginnings. This song is from the Broadway musical "Wicked" and was sang in the hit TV show, "Glee". May you find wisdom in the lyrics of this song and that you finally decide to never let anyone bring you down as you move upward towards your dreams.
